Askatasuna, the Basque anri-repression and pro-amnesty organisation wishes to
express its support for Palestinian political prisoners and at this time,
deplore the action taken against Ahmed Saadat and his comrades by the
government of Israel. 

It is our position that in any political conflict, the use of political
prisoners as hostages, to try to condition the struggle of the people is
absolutely unacceptable. Political prisoners are a consequence of  political
conflicts and therefore are a community with political rights which must be
respected. 

We join your call for the liberation of Ahmed Saadat and all Palestinian
political prisoners.
